The Message of the Bible   and  The Warning of The Bible
Far from being outdated, out of touch, and largely irrelevant to modern society, the Kingdom of God Jesus was sent to earth to proclaim (No, His main message wasn’t about ‘love’) is exactly the utopian world most men and women can only dream of, not some pie-in-the-sky ethereal place the other side of Pluto where everyone exists in a state of disembodied blessedness. However, there is also a warning. The Bible very clearly tells us that we all have a choice to make in this life - the most important decision we will ever make. And, if the Bible is indeed the word of God, as it claims to be, and Jesus is the Son of God as He said He was, the consequences for the individual who chooses to ignore the ample evidence, or counter it with clever arguments, will be fatal.

The Reappearance of The Christ … Jesus Christ or 'The Christ'?
The one thing you can be very sure of is that this 'christ' they speak of is NOT the Christ of the Bible. And the "reappearance of the christ" has absolutely NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ's Second Coming, foretold in the Scriptures, and looked forward to by believers the world over.

The Rider From The Secret Place
There are only two references to a rider on a white horse in the Bible, both of which are found in the book of Revelation. The rider in Revelation 19:11 is obviously none other than Jesus Christ who, in righteousness, dispenses justice. However, the rider in Revelation 6:2 is quite another matter.

Lord of the World
Some nineteen hundred years before Alice Bailey was even dreamed of, the apostle Paul told us exactly who the "lord of the world' was

Lucifer... "Solar Angel" Or Father of Lies?
Theosophy teaches that when Lucifer fell, it was not a disgrace but an act of "great sacrifice"

The "Advance Guard"
This ties in perfectly with the fact that the Lord Jesus specifically taught that the days of Noah and the days preceding His second advent would closely parallel each other.

Conclusion... Faith With or Without Evidence.
You can, if you like, unquestioningly take the word of a spook who showed up out of the blue one fine day, and who offers no evidence as to whether his claims are founded on fact, or fairy dust. But, be warned, the price tag is exceedingly high.

PART I.. The Background, The Plan, The Organizations and The Methods Used to Implement the Plan

Introduction: Helena Blavatsky and The Masters
The "Masters of the Ancient Wisdom", often simply referred to as "The Masters" or "The Ascended Masters" are reputed to be spiritually enlightened beings who, in past incarnations, were mere mortals, but who have undergone a series of spiritual transformations called initiations, of which there are several. For example, a "Master" is a human being who has taken the Fifth Initiation and is thereby capable of dwelling on the 5th dimension. An "Ascended Master" is a human being who has taken the Sixth Initiation and who has regained full union with his "Mighty I AM Presence. The "Lord of the World" has taken the Ninth Initiation, which is the highest possible.  Sanat Kumara originally held this "office".

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society who wrote extensively on the subject, first brought attention to the existence of these supposed spiritual leaders, her spirit guide 'Kuthumi' in particular. [See Footnote I for more about Theosophy which means 'knowledge of the Divine]. A site dedicated to Blavatsky's teachings has this to say

The masters of Theosophy, located in Tibet and around the world, preserve and extend this ancient wisdom. Periodically they send forth one of their own - or a messenger - to help spread this teaching to all of humanity. In the 1800's they had been searching for a century for the next messenger and finally settled upon Helena Blavatsky, born to a noble Russian family. She saw the master who would be her teacher in her dreams as a child. She met him in Hyde Park in London when she was 20. She managed to enter Tibet and was trained by those masters in Tibet from 1868 to 1870. From 1875 through her death in 1891 she spread that message around the world. [http://www.blavatsky.net/]

After Helena Blavatsky, these so called "Ageless Wisdom Teachings" were communicated through various other individuals such as Alice Bailey, Helena Roerich and others. In a nutshell these 'masters" have a very specific plan for mankind and are guiding their spiritual growth so that they might achieve the "next evolutionary level".

Additionally, they claim that whenever humanity has reached some level of crisis, the spiritual hierarchy has sent someone to show the way. The best known of these "way-showers" being Buddha, Krishna, Jesus Christ, Confucius, Muhammed etc. (Of course, little consideration has been given to the fact that the teachings of each of these leaders flatly contradicts the teachings of the others.

See Religious Pluralism
Whether you have thought about it or not, whether you are willing to face it or not, the simple fact is... if two belief systems make truth-claims which contradict each other, they cannot both be right. As one example among many, when one religion says there is no God, another claims there is only one God, and others say there are many gods ... someone doesn't have their facts straight. Only someone who has their facts straight can be trusted to show you the path to God).

This article is largely, but not exclusively, focused on beliefs expressed in two of Alice Bailey's books, Externalisation Of The Hierarchy and The Reappearance of the Christ.

    Q. And why should we care what, regardless of how the books were transmitted, a relatively obscure 19th century woman wrote?

    A. Simply because, although the Bible gives us very little information about these so called "masters", there is little question that 1) These books speak about the anti-christ.... his rise to power on earth and the methods being used to enable his appearance 2) These beliefs are being propagated, not by a few kooks, but by numerous very powerful organizations, one of which is deeply ensconced in the heart of the United Nations. All of them have but a single goal... creating the conditions necessary for the anti-christ and his cohorts, the 'masters of wisdom', to physically appear.

Alice Bailey's Background:

Although the movement did not start with her, a woman called Alice Bailey, was very instrumental in the global spread of Western esotericism. A one time serious student of Theosophy, she wrote some 24 books, 19 of which were literally dictated by an ectoplasmic apparition who called himself * Djwhal Khul (The Tibetan), and claimed he lived in a physical body, on the borders of Tibet.

* Pronounced “Dhwaal Khool”

When she was fifteen years old, Bailey was approached by a mysterious entity who wore a turban and called himself 'Kuthumi'. One Sunday morning, he walked into her house in Manchester, England, when the rest of her family were in church. Too startled to speak, she listened as 'Kuthumi' told her that she could do some useful work in the world if she managed a measure of self-control. In her words...

My future usefulness to Him and to the world was dependent upon how I handled myself and the changes I could manage to make. He said that if I could achieve real self-control I could then be trusted and that I would travel all over the world and visit many countries, "doing your Master's work all the time." [01]

In his book, A Time of Departing, Ray Yungen wrote a short and concise account of how Alice Bailey came to be one of the leading lights of the New Age.

"In the early twentieth century, a figure who would have a major impact on the Western esoteric movement came out of the occultic Theosophical Society. The actual coining of the very term New Age has been attributed to her writings. Her name was Alice Ann Bailey.

Born Alice LaTrobe-Bateman, in Manchester, England on June 16, 1880, she grew up as a society girl and enjoyed all the privileges of the British upper class. Being very religious, Alice met and married a man who later became an Episcopal minister. In time, they moved to the United States. When Alice's husband became physically abusive toward her, she fled from him and settled with her three children in Pacific Grove, California.

Alice was greatly comforted when she met two other English women living in Pacific Grove. These women introduced her to theosophy, which seemed to provide answers to her questions concerning why such misfortune had befallen her. Alice, then 35, was about to have her life changed forever. Later, in her unfinished autobiography, she wrote...

I discovered, first of all, that there is a great and divine Plan ... I discovered, for a second thing, that there are Those Who are responsible for the working out of that Plan and Who, step by step and stage by stage, have led mankind on down the centuries. [02]

In 1917, Alice moved to Los Angeles and began working for that plan at the Theosophical Society headquarters where she met Foster Bailey, a man who had devoted his life to occultism. She divorced her estranged husband and married Bailey in 1920. Alice had her first contact with a voice that claimed to be a master in November of 1919. Calling himself the Tibetan, he wanted Alice to take dictation from him." [03]

As Bailey wrote in her unfinished biography....

It was in November 1919 that I made my first contact with The Tibetan. I had sent the children off to school and thought I would snatch a few minutes to myself and went out on to the hill close to the house. I sat down and began thinking and then suddenly I sat startled and attentive. I heard what I thought was a clear note of music which sounded from the sky, through the hill and in me. Then I heard a voice which said, "There are some books which it is desired should be written for the public. You can write them. Will you do so?" [04]

Alice was initially reluctant to take on any such endeavor but, after she was begged to reconsider, she said she would try it for a short period of time and then decide. It was during this trial period that Bailey was given the initial chapters of her first book, Initiation, Human and Solar. However, she was concerned that her mental health would be affected and, since she had three daughters to take care of, did not want to risk any further work. Djwhal Khul asked her to get back in touch with Kuthumi and discuss the matter with him. In Alice Bailey's words..

After thinking it over for a week or so I decided to get in touch with K. H. and proceeded to do so, following the very definite technique He had taught me. When I got my opportunity for an interview with K. H. we talked the whole thing through. He assured me that I was in no danger, either physically or mentally, and that I had the opportunity of doing a really valuable piece of work. [05]

And so it came about that, beginning in the 1930s, the Tibetan 'master' began relaying the messages he wanted written down. Alice Bailey said she took down the words she heard, and registered the thoughts which were "dropped", one at a time, into her brain. And that she made no changes to these words, except to "smooth the English or replace an unusual word with one that is clearer, taking care, always, to preserve the sense as given" [06]  She also made it exceedingly clear that she never altered or modified anything that the Tibetan gave her, even if she did not always understand, or agree with, what was said.

This collaboration between Alice Bailey and this non-human 'master of wisdom', one of the members of the so-called 'hierarchy', continued through the next two and a half decades. The resulting books remain, to this day, one of the primary sources for so called "Ageless Wisdom" teachings. (Note: The Tibetan' apparently did not stop with Alice Bailey, although it was through her that he caused the greatest damage. (See Footnote II)

The Plan
While Alice Bailey's books deal with a wide range of esoteric thoughts, they were based on what she referred to as "The Plan"... the specific stages and details of the 'Hierarchy's' plan for mankind. This plan, often referred to as "Ageless Wisdom" teachings, involves raising the consciousness of as many men as possible, in order to take them to the "next evolutionary level".

While all that might sound like something out a science fiction novel, it is the cornerstone of an uncountable number of New Age organizations. An incredibly huge network of groups, trusts, foundations, clubs, religious groups etc. have become focused on making changes not only at an individual, but at a global level. See The Global Alliance

Why?
A large portion of the New Age movement believes that the utopian age (a new age) will only come about under the leadership and guidance of a world leader/teacher. They contend that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius, Jesus, and many others were "christs", but one greater than them all... a "World Teacher" will soon come to usher in a New Age. However, the plan can only be implemented, and the 'christ' reappear only when the collective consciousness of this planet has been raised to a sufficient degree. In Alice Bailey/Djwhal Khul's words... (Capitalization in Original)

This will indicate a return to the situation which existed in Atlantean days when (to use Biblical symbology, Genesis Chaps. 2 and 3) God Himself walked among men; He talked with them and there was no barrier between the Kingdom of men and the Kingdom of God. Divinity was then present in physical form and the Members of the spiritual Hierarchy were openly guiding and directing the affairs of humanity as far as man's innate freedom permitted. Now, in the immediate future, and on a higher turn of the spiral of life, this will again happen. The Masters will walk openly among men; the Christ will reappear in physical Presence. Another thing that will happen will be that the ancient Mysteries will be restored, the ancient landmarks will again be recognised - those landmarks which Masonry has so earnestly preserved and which have been hitherto securely embalmed in the Masonic rituals, waiting the day of restoration and of resurrection. [07]

(How can another being, besides Jesus Christ of The Bible, be called "christ"? See Footnote II)

When?
And when would this happen? Alice Bailey made it crystal clear that imminent "great and stirring events" would take place "when the effect of the new Invocation is more pronounced and its use more general" (more about this "invocation" later), which was the responsibility of the three movements which "demonstrate the part" she "sought to take in the world preparation". [08]

The three movements being The Arcane School, Triangles, and the Goodwill movement all of which operate under the umbrella of the Lucis Trust.

The Organizations

Lucis Trust
Bailey and her husband parted ways from Theosophy and started the Lucifer Publishing Company to publish her books. The name was changed to Lucis Publishing Company by 1925, which was the first step on the road to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the international community.

Currently located on Wall Street, Lucis Trust is a non-profit trust incorporated in New York State to manage the business of publishing Alice Bailey's books. They also put out a magazine entitled Beacon. Additionally, Lucis Trust is a powerful institution that enjoys "Consultative Status" with the United Nations, which means they have a close working relationship with the U.N, which includes a seat on the weekly sessions but, more importantly, it means they have influence with powerful political and business leaders throughout the world.

The Trust not only maintains the UN meditation room, but provides worldwide financial support for the Arcane School, Triangles, World Goodwill, Lucis Publishing, Lucis Productions, Lucis Trust Libraries and the New Group of World Servers.

Lucis Trust was originally called the Lucifer Publishing Company apparently because, like Helena Blavatsky before them, Alice and Foster Bailey "sought to elicit a deeper understanding of the sacrifice made by Lucifer".

Alice and Foster Bailey were serious students and teachers of Theosophy, a spiritual tradition which views Lucifer as one of the solar Angels, those advanced Beings Who Theosophy says descended (thus "the fall") from Venus to our planet eons ago to bring the principle of mind to what was then animal-man. In the theosophical perspective, the descent of these solar Angels was not a fall into sin or disgrace but rather an act of great sacrifice, as is suggested in the name "Lucifer" which means light-bearer. [09]

As Helen Blavatsky once said..

To make the point clear once for all: that which the clergy of every dogmatic religion -- pre-eminently the Christian -- points out as Satan, the enemy of God, is in reality, the highest divine Spirit -- (occult Wisdom on Earth) [10]

The Arcane School
The Arcane school was initially founded  in 1923 to "handle the correspondence that was accumulating as a result of the increasing sales of the books", to "meet the demand for Secret Doctrine classes" and "to handle all the appeals for help along spiritual lines" [11]

The school now has branches in New York, Geneva, London and Buenos Aires from which it provides correspondence training for new age discipleship. According to Lucis trust... [Emphasis Added]

The purpose of the esoteric training given in the Arcane School is to help the student grow spiritually toward acceptance of discipleship responsibility and to serve the Plan by serving humanity." [12]

Triangles
In 1937 Lucis Trust also founded a world-wide "Triangles" program. A triangle "spiritually symbolic of the essential Trinity of the Godhead" (See Is God a Trinity?) is a global network of cells, whose members pray the Great Invocation. It brings people together in groups of three for daily meditation whereby as the Lucis Trust says "a worldwide network of light and goodwill for the distribution of spiritual energies" is created. They go on to describe how this program works...

A triangle is a group of three people who link each day in thought for a few minutes of creative meditation. They need not necessarily live in the same locality, and many international triangles exist. Each day members sit quietly for a few minutes and link mentally with other members of their triangle, or triangles. They invoke the energies of light and goodwill, visualising these energies as circulating through the three focal points of each triangle, and pouring out through the network of triangles surrounding the planet. At the same time they repeat the Great Invocation, thus helping to form a channel for the downpouring of light and love into the consciousness of humanity. [13]

World Goodwill
Founded in 1932, The World Goodwill group is recognized by the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), represented at regular briefing sessions in New York and Geneva.

World Goodwill is an accredited non-governmental organisation with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations. It maintains informal relations with certain of the Specialised Agencies and with a wide range of national and international non-governmental organisations. World Goodwill is an activity of the Lucis Trust, which is on the Roster of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. [14]

The second of four stated objectives of World Goodwill is "to cooperate in the work of preparation for the reappearance of the Christ" [15]. They list "six recognitions that can provide a basis for realising these purposes and objectives", the first four of which are.. [All Emphasis Added]

One: Humanity is not following a haphazard or uncharted course -- there is a Plan. This Plan has always existed and is part of the greater design of the Cosmos. The Plan has worked out through the evolutionary developments of the past and because of the special impetus given it from time to time by the great leaders, teachers and intuitives of the human race.

Two: There is an inner spiritual government of the planet, known under such different names as the spiritual Hierarchy, the society of Illumined Minds, or Christ and his Church, according to various religious traditions. Humanity is never left without spiritual guidance or direction under the Plan.

Three: The widespread expectation that we approach the "Age of Maitreya", as it is known in the East, when the World Teacher and present head of the spiritual Hierarchy, the Christ, will reappear among humanity to sound the keynote of the new age.

Four: There are millions of mentally alert men and women in all parts of the world who are en rapport with the Plan and work to give it expression...." [16]

They then go on to talk of The Reappearance of the Christ, saying that [All Emphasis Added]

This is a time of preparation not only for a new civilisation and culture in a new world order, but also for the coming of a new spiritual dispensation. Humanity is not following an uncharted course. There is a divine Plan in the Cosmos of which we are a part. At the end of an age human resources and established institutions seem inadequate to meet world needs and problems. At such a time the advent of a Teacher, a spiritual leader or Avatar, is anticipated and invoked by the masses of humanity in all parts of the world. [17]

World Goodwill distributes educational and informative literature on these themes including copies of the Great Invocation in several different languages. They also help organize "the annual World Invocation Day, with special focus on the use of the Great Invocation worldwide." [18] [All Emphasis Added]

Djwhal Khul's Role
Did Djwhal Khul have anything to do with these organizations? The answer is resoundingly in the affirmative.

In an article called The Tibetan Master's Work, the Lucis trust tells us that after the first books were published, Djwhal Khul needed to find a "nucleus of people through whom he could work" and although he was/is not instrumental in running or supervising the Arcane school, he used/uses it... (Emphasis Added)

... for service purposes when it had demonstrated its value in providing a body of workers trained to implement the Plan and prepare for the reappearance of the Christ."

And if there is any remaining doubt as what the ultimate aim of these organizations is... (Capitalization in Original)

Our objective is the helping of the Great Ones and the rendering to Them of that intelligent assistance which will make Their plans for humanity materialise. [19]

The Methods
(Occult Meditation and The "Great Invocation")

The teachings of the Tibetan make it clear that

humanity itself must first produce the conditions in consciousness and in world affairs essential to the eventual physical appearance of the Christ

This changing or lifting of global consciousness that facilitates the return of the christ and the dawning of the new age is not a teaching unique to the Lucis trust, but is echoed and reechoed by countless New Age writers and teachers. Lucis Trust and it's affiliated organizations certainly do their bit to change the 'spiritual awareness' of the planet, primarily accomplished by occult meditation and the reciting of the Great Invocation.

The Great Invocation
The Great Invocation has, for decades, been printed on millions of bookmarks and in the front of every Alice Bailey book published by Lucis Trust. The first stanza was given Alice Bailey by 'the Tibetan' in 1935. Two others followed... the second in 1940 and the third in 1945.

The term invocation means 'calling down' or 'calling forth'. The Great Invocation has been described as a call for "the Christ to return to Earth". It is a request, a demand, an appeal to higher energies and intelligences....  [20]

The 1940 second stanza begins with the words.. [Emphasis Added]

Let the Lords of Liberation issue forth.
Let them bring succour to the sons of men.
Let the Rider from the Secret Place come forth,
And coming, save. Come forth, O Mighty One.

The third stanza dating to 1945 reads (Emphasis Added)

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
    Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
    May Christ return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

The Lucis trust certainly has inflated ideas about the invocation, stating that

The Great Invocation if given widespread distribution, can be to the new world religion what the Lord's Prayer has been to Christianity and the 23rd Psalm has been to the spiritually minded Jew. [21]

They also state that it makes "powerful changes" to the person using it.. (which, considering the source, I do not doubt for a moment)

No one can use this Invocation or prayer for illumination and for love without causing powerful changes in his own attitudes and his life intention; character and goals will be changed and life altered and made spiritually useful. [22]

Lucis Trust claims that "tens of thousands of people of goodwill throughout the world" [23] are using the Great Invocation on a daily basis. I have little doubt that this is true considering that, as mentioned earlier, the sole purpose of the global network of cells called "Triangles", is to bring people together in groups of three for daily meditation and to pray the "Great Invocation". This makes the following statements rather chilling... (All Emphasis Added)

The science of invocation is in reality the intelligent organisation of spiritual energy and of the forces of love, and these, when effective, will evoke the response of spiritual Beings Who can work openly among men and thus establish a close relation and a constant communication between humanity and the spiritual Hierarchy". [24]

Always down the centuries, at the hour of man's greatest need and in response to his voiced demand, a divine Son of God has come forth and under many different names. [25]

I have no idea whether the above quote was intended to include the Biblical Jesus Christ, who certainly did not come in response to man's "voiced demand". His earthly incarnation was planned by the Father from the beginning of time and foretold for centuries. In fact, the entire Old Testament, while a historical record of God's dealings with the nation of Israel, was squarely focused on the Redeemer who was to come.

See Only Jesus Was Foretold Centuries in Advance It seems within the bounds of common sense that if God were to send a messenger/savior to mankind, He would have at least given us some way to distinguish the true messenger from the false (and potentially dangerous) one. And, so He did. In fact God’s method was pretty foolproof... He simply told us about the Messiah beforehand. In fact, although many details of the Messiah's birth, life and death were recorded centuries before Christ’s birth, Daniel specified EXACTLY when He would appear.

New Age Leaders and The Invocation
Without mentioning the source, Barbara Marx Hubbard quotes the final verse of "The Great Invocation, on page 216 of her 1998 book Conscious Evolution. She states that the goal of her book is

"... that it serve the fulfillment of the plan. 'May Light and Love and Power restore the plan on Earth.' That is my prayer." [26]

Neale Donald Walsch, Gary Zukav and Marianne Williamson all endorsed Conscious Evolution. Walsch wrote the foreword, while Marianne Williamson's endorsement on the front cover reads "Barbara Marx Hubbard has given us an extraordinary guide to an enlightened society. If enough of us read this book, something phenomenal will emerge as a consequence... ".

Gary Zukav "enthusiastically" recommends the book on the back cover. No surprise here. Zukav is the author of four consecutive New York Times best sellers, who appeared many, many times on The Oprah Winfrey Show  to discuss transformation in human consciousness.

Occult Meditation
The second means used to "materialize" the Hierarchy's plan for humanity is the practice of occult meditation, of which the Lucis Trust says... [Emphasis Added]

Occult meditation is a means of consciously and purposefully directing energy from a recognised source to the creation of some specific effect. [27]

The belief being that the participants receive divine energy through meditation, which is then transmitted to humanity, thus raising spiritual awareness. Every meditation session "grows and builds on what has been achieved" and lifts "the consciousness of humanity as a whole even by an immeasurable fraction". [28]

Apparently, each meditation session brings us just a fraction closer to, as one meditation site puts it, "the awakening of all into the New Age Millennium". [29]

Full Moon Meditation
Bailey taught that certain moments of the year are especially fruitful times for spiritual work because "spiritual energies are uniquely available and facilitate a closer rapport between humanity and the Hierarchy". [30]

In the words of Djwhal Khul... (All Emphasis Added)

The spirit of Invocation, of longing for and reaching for contact with higher beings is strengthened at Full Moon. [31]

Every possible effort must be made by the workers in every county to increase the numbers of those who use this Invocation, and to familiarise the public with the ideals for which the New Group of World Servers stands. All whom you can reach in the countries of the world must be instructed and helped to spread the use of the Invocation in their own language, and with the wording that will make it acceptable, and a widespread effort must be made to organise its simultaneous use on the day of the May full moon. Those who use it must be instructed to say the words aloud, thus making a volume of sound of real potency, and they must say it with all the power of their wills behind it. It is the invocation of the "will to good" that is the objective of the Forces Who can aid at this time. This realisation is of paramount importance". [32]

The stated purpose of the Aquarian Age Community's meditation sessions, which are open to the public and which take place in the United Nations Meditation Room, is to "support and strengthen the spiritual work of the United Nations". [33]. Quite unsurprisingly therefore, the meditation schedule always exactly corresponds with the Full Moon phases. Compare them yourself.

Beginning in the very heart of the United Nations there are, quite literally, thousands of organizations devoted to occult meditation and the Great Invocation.

Very obviously, the wide promulgation of the teachings about the coming of the Masters of the Wisdom is so that their appearance will not be a surprise to many thousands around the globe. Much to the contrary, because this "christ" and his cronies will be perceived as the harbingers of a new age of peace and prosperity, they will be welcomed with open arms.

Another unique factor which will distinguish His coming will be not only the general expectancy but also the fact that much is today known and taught about the Kingdom of God, or the Spiritual Hierarchy of the planet. Everywhere, in all countries, there are thousands who are interested in the fact of that Hierarchy, who believe in the Masters of the Wisdom, the disciples of the Christ, and who will not be surprised when this group of Sons of God, surrounding their great Leader, the Christ, makes its appearance on Earth. [34]

PART II

The Reappearance of The Christ … Jesus Christ or 'The Christ'?
The un-initiated possibly understand Reappearance of the Christ as referring to Jesus' Second Coming. This is not helped by the fact that some New Age websites not only refer to "the christ", but also speak of "Jesus" or Jesus Christ". What makes it even more confusing is that, in The Reappearance Of The Christ, Bailey said "when He came before, Palestine was held in the vicious grasp of the Jewish religious leaders", which obviously implies that the same person will return.

... He will find a world uniquely free from the grip and hold of ecclesiasticism; when He came before, Palestine was held in the vicious grasp of the Jewish religious leaders, and the Pharisees and the Sadducees were to the people of that land what the potentates of the church are to the people in the world today. But — there has been a useful and wholesome swing away from Churchianity and from orthodox religion during the past century, and this will present a unique opportunity for the restoration of true religion and the presentation of a simple return to the ways of spiritual living. The priests, the Levites, the Pharisees and the Sadducees were not the ones who recognised Him when He came before. They feared Him. And it is highly improbable that the reactionary churchmen will be the ones to recognise Him today. He may reappear in a totally unexpected guise; who is to say whether He will come as a politician, an economist, a leader of the people (arising from the midst of them), a scientist or an artist? [34]

However, the one thing you can be very sure of is that this 'christ' they speak of is NOT the Christ of the Bible. And the "reappearance of the christ" has absolutely NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ's Second Coming, foretold in the Scriptures, and looked forward to by believers the world over. While many New Agers believe that the Biblical Jesus Christ was a very evolved being, and one of several masters of wisdom, or ascended masters (excuse me while I gag), they do not recognize His deity.

It is obvious that the effort is being made to convey the impression that either the Bible is so corrupted and/or the church has it so wrong that Christians wont recognize the returning 'christ' as being the same Christ who left this earth two centuries ago. (Underlining added. Capitalization in the original)

If men look for the Christ Who left His disciples centuries ago they will fail to recognise the Christ Who is in process of returning. The Christ has no religious barriers in His consciousness. It matters not to Him of what faith a man may call himself. The Son of God is on His way and He cometh not alone. His advance guard is already here and the Plan which they must follow is already made and clear. Let recognition be the aim.  [35]

In line with this, Bailey was highly critical of mainstream Christianity; she wrote that much of the Church's teaching about Christ's return is directly opposed to His own intentions, and that the Christian church's path has been one of "aggressive militancy"

He will not come to convert the "heathen" world for, in the eyes of the Christ and of His true disciples, no such world exists and the so-called heathen have demonstrated historically less of the evil of vicious conflict than has the militant Christian world. The history of the Christian nations and of the Christian church has been one of an aggressive militancy- the last thing desired by the Christ when He sought to establish the church on earth. [36]

Just for the record, the Bible does not teach that Christ will come to "convert the heathen" but to destroy all world systems and kingdoms and set up His own everlasting kingdom. This will include all those that have not chosen to be part of His Kingdom.

The End Of The Age Part VI... The Seven Bowls

Acknowledging Jesus Merely as Savior is Insufficient

NOTE: The assertion that Christianity has caused most of the killing and bloodshed in the world is so provably false that it is quite amazing how many people still chant this mindlessly repeated mantra. The claim is based on the Crusades and the two Inquisitions which were utterly reprehensible. However, If anyone takes the time and the trouble to examine the facts and figures of history, they will soon realize that atheism, not religion, is responsible for most of the mass murders and genocide in history. For example, 26.3 million Chinese died during Mao Tse Tung's regime, the Nobel Prize winner, Alexander Solzhenitsyn estimates the loss of life from state repression and terrorism from October 1917 to December 1959 under Lenin and Stalin and Khrushchev at 66.7 million. One third of the entire country was put to death under the rule of Pol Pot, the founder of the Communist Party of Kampuchea between April 17, 1975 and January 1979. And, of course, lets not forget about Hitler who slaughtered 6,000,000 Jews, apart from other groups.  [See The Real Murderers: Atheism or Christianity?]

Bailey also asserted that the coming christ may be of any religion, or none at all

The development of spiritual recognition is the great need today in preparation for His reappearance; no one knows in what nation He will come; He may appear as an Englishman, a Russian, a Negro, a Latin, a Turk, a Hindu, or any other nationality. Who can say which? He may be a Christian or a Hindu by faith, a Buddhist or of no particular faith at all; He will not come as the restorer of any of the ancient religions, including Christianity, but He will come to restore man's faith in the Father's love, in the fact of the livingness of the Christ and in the close, subjective and unbreakable relationship of all men everywhere.... [37]

The truth of the matter is, regardless of what they want you to believe, the 'christ' they speak of will be as far removed from Jesus Christ of the Bible as day is from night. [See Footnote III... How Can Another Being Be Called “Christ”?]

If this 'christ' is not the Jesus Christ of the Bible, there is only one other possible candidate.. the antichrist who Jesus warned us about.

The Rider From The Secret Place
In chapter two of Externalisation Of The Hierarchy, Alice Bailey analyzes the stanzas of the Great Invocation. When she comes to the line "Let the Rider from the secret place come forth and coming, save. Come forth, O Mighty One", she says (Capitalization in Original)

Here we come up against one of the oldest traditions in the world and of the ancient East; one, too, which finds its counterpart in the New Testament, where the Coming One is seen coming forth to the rescue of the people "riding upon a white horse." [38]

There are only two references to a rider on a white horse in the Bible, both of which are found in the book of Revelation. The rider in Revelation 19:11 is obviously none other than Jesus Christ who, in righteousness, dispenses justice. The Bible is very clear that Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords, does not come to "rescue" His people, but to wage war against, and ultimately destroy, all man made kingdoms. (Chapters 17 and 18 of the book of Revelation are a crucial warning, dealing with specific targets of the wrath of God. See Two Babylons.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "King of kings and Lord of lords." (Revelation 19:11-16 NASB)

However, the rider in Revelation 6:2 is quite another matter. He is bent on conquest.

I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

This rider is none other than the antichrist whom Jesus warned about.

Note: The Greek word antichristos does not necessarily mean 'against' or 'opposed to' Christ, but can mean 'instead of' Christ. This is another way of saying one who seeks to 'take the place of' Christ. In other words, the antichrist is a clever counterfeit of God's Messiah, which is why he is seen as riding a horse the same colour as the one Christ rides. For Details See The First Seal

Jesus' Warning

When asked what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the age, Jesus' first words were to caution believers not to be misled by false Christs.

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. (Matthew 24:3-5 NASB)

Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him. "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. "Behold, I have told you in advance. "So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. [Matthew 24:23-26]

If there was no possibility that Christians could be deceived, then it is hardly likely that Jesus would have issued the above advice to beware. John records Jesus as saying "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him". Considering that Jesus' audience were the Jews of His day, many have taken this verse to mean that many, if not most, Jews will accept the Antichrist as the Redeemer of Israel. However, in order to be accepted by Israel as the Messiah, the Antichrist would have to be Jewish. See The Nationality of the Antichrist

One can only hope that the church still has some radar in place. However, I have to wonder, because not only do a number of deceitful teachers and false doctrines go undetected, but are welcomed with open arms by many, many Christians. See Four Most Dangerous Mistakes Any Christian Can Make and The Occult Take Over of The Once Christian Church on THIS page.

Lord of the World
In her books, Alice Bailey makes numerous references to the "Lord of the World". A search on the term on the Lucis Trust web site brought up eight pages of results, most being absolute gobbledygook. Two examples of the incomprehensible and pompous jargon are...

Students would do well to bear in mind that these relationships are the result of the involutionary activity of the life expression of the Lord of the World [39]

The difference between man, the microcosm, and the planetary Logos, the Lord of the World, the Macrocosm, lies in the fact that the Lord of the World is not identified with the maya which He has created, and which has its purpose in eventually bringing about the release of the "prisoners of the planet." [40]

However, according to Bailey, this 'Lord of the World', physically exists on this earth in an "etheric" body, while the masters employ "dense physical bodies". [41]

Paul's Warning:
While Alice Bailey seems to be completely confused as to the exact identity of this so-called Lord, identifiying him with Sanat Kumara, the Ancient of Days, the planetary Logos, Melchizedek etc., [42] the apostle Paul was under no such delusion. In fact, some nineteen hundred years before Alice Bailey was even dreamed of, he told us exactly who the "lord of the world' was ... Satan, and exactly what he would do... "blind the minds of the unbelieving"

in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  (2 Corinthians 4:4 NASB)

And what an excellent job he has done so far.

Note: Satan, is also called the "ruler of this world" in John 12:31, John 14:30, John 16:11 and the "prince of the power of the air" who works in the "sons of disobedience". (Ephesians 2:2)

Lucifer... "Solar Angel" Or Father of Lies?
The identity of this so called messiah/lord/world teacher becomes even more clear when we consider that both

Alice and Foster Bailey were serious students and teachers of Theosophy, a spiritual tradition which views Lucifer as one of the solar Angels, those advanced Beings Who Theosophy says descended (thus 'the fall') from Venus to our planet eons ago to bring the principle of mind to what was then animal-man. In the theosophical perspective, the descent of these solar Angels was not a fall into sin or disgrace but rather an act of great sacrifice, as is suggested in the name "Lucifer" which means light-bearer. [43]

An article on the Lucis Trust website, entitled Descent and Sacrifice, by Sarah McKechnie says

The notion of the "rebellious angel" seems to trace back to the poet John Milton in Paradise Lost, which seemed to anchor in human consciousness the idea of the descent of the solar angels as an act of rebellion and therefore a fall from grace. [44]

Sadly, this is so provably untrue that it is almost laughable. John Milton simply echoed what the Bible had said centuries earlier.

In summary the Bible tells us that...

a) Satan once had open access to heaven

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. (Job 1:6 NASB)

b) He wished to become like the "Most High"

How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. (Isaiah 14:12-15 NASB)

Please note: Although the verses speak of the downfall of the king of Babylon, the most illustrious and proud of all the monarchs, there is little reason not to believe that, in the spirit of typology, the verses also speak of the fall of Satan. Especially since 1 Timothy 3:6 also indicates that the cause of Satan's downfall was pride. In his letter to Timothy, Paul wrote that an overseer in the church could not be a new convert, lest he "become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil."  (1 Timothy 3:6 NASB). Also note that some translations render "star of the morning" in verse 12 as "Lucifer", which was not in the original Hebrew. Lucifer was the word used by the Latin speaking Jerome because it means "Venus" which, as we know, is the morning star.

c) He was thrown out of Heaven with his angels

And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelation 12:7-9 NASB)

Note:What a curious 'coincidence' it is that Alice Bailey mentioned that a "great number of beings called angels by the Christian" work as "members" of the Hierarchy. [45]

d) And now roams the earth with "great wrath" seeking who he may devour. And what better way to "devour" people than by causing them to believe that the coming antichrist will be the savior of the world.

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  (1 Peter 5:8 NASB)

For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time." (Revelation 12:12 NASB)

But, as He knows, his time to deceive people is extremely limited. The day is not far off when he will be forever cast into the "lake of fire".

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10 NASB)

The "Advance Guard"
Alice Bailey wrote that the Hierarchy's closer relations to humanity would lead to the "reappearance of the Hierarchy on earth" [46], and made no bones about the fact that 'the christ's' coming would be preceded by "the Masters" who "will walk openly among men" (Underlining added. Capitalization in the original)

You will note, therefore, how the three divine aspects are united in one great movement to bring in the Kingdom of God, and that the first step towards this longed-for consummation is the appearance of the Masters upon the physical plane, and then, somewhat later, the reappearance of the Christ. [47]

Note: while Genesis 3:8 does state that the Father walked in the garden in the cool of the day, it says absolutely nothing about a so called spiritual Hierarchy "openly guiding and directing the affairs of humanity". However, sometime later, 'someone' or 'something' did walk the earth quite freely. After Adam and Eve were banished from the garden they had children, who had children and..

    (1) Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,  (2) that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. (3) Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." (4) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.  (5) Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (6)  The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.  (7) The LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them." (Genesis 6:1-7 NASB)

There is a great deal of controversy among Bible scholars as to the exact nature of the events described in these verses, much of which I suspect stems from the reluctance to accept anything that is even remotely bizarre. Christians do seem to like their theology nice and tidy and tend to try and explain away anything that offends their orderly version of history and the supernatural world. We can accept one devil with horns and a pitchfork, but not some mysterious and very powerful 'masters,' nor angels who fathered children with human women. However, it is extremely silly to either gloss over these verses, or accept the 'sanitized' version. Having accurate information is exceedingly important to prepare us for what is to come in the not too distant future.

Why do I say that?

Simply because the Lord Jesus specifically taught that the days of Noah and the days of the Son of Man parallel each other. In His words. "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man," (Matthew 24:37, Luke 17:26). He linked these two epochs together and said that one is the parallel of the other. In other words, in the days immediately preceding the return of Jesus Christ, we should expect to find conditions similar to those that existed just before the flood. See Days of Noah

The three conditions that existed in those days were 1) The wickedness of man 2) The "sons of God" intermarrying with mortal women and 3) the mighty men of old walked the earth.

It is no coincidence that Alice Bailey wrote that there would be a return to the situation which existed in Atlantean days when the "masters" will once again walk openly among men, guiding and directing the affairs of humanity. [49] The "Masters" are not only on their way back but, more chillingly, Alice Bailey was probably right when she stated that the advance guard was already here...

The Son of God is on His way and He cometh not alone. His advance guard is already here and the Plan which they must follow is already made and clear. Let recognition be the aim. [50]

In her book Initiation, Human And Solar, Alice Bailey wrote... (Emphasis Added)

In Lemurian days, after the great descent of the spiritual Existences to the earth, the work They planned to do was systematised. Offices were apportioned, and the processes of evolution in all the departments of nature were brought under the conscious wise guidance of this initial Brotherhood. This Hierarchy of Brothers of Light still exists, and the work goes steadily on. They are all in physical existence, either in dense physical bodies, such as many of the Masters employ, or in etheric bodies, such as the more exalted helpers and the Lord of the World occupy. It is of value for men to remember that They are in physical existence, and to bear in mind that They exist upon this planet with us, controlling its destinies, guiding its affairs, and leading all its evolutions on to an ultimate perfection. [51]

Although described as "Lords" and "persons", Bailey states that these "great forces" are not to be understood in terms of human personality, but that descriptions must be couched in terms that humanity can understand. And that these "pure Being[s] ... have purposes and activities in which our Earth plays only a minor part." [52]

I'll bet they do.

She goes on to say

The central home of this Hierarchy is at Shamballa, a centre in the Gobi desert... Several of the Masters in physical bodies dwell in the Himalaya mountains, in a secluded spot called Shigatse, far from the ways of men, but the greater number are scattered all over the world, dwelling in different places in the various nations, unrecognised and unknown, yet forming each in His own place a focal point for the energy of the Lord of the World... [53]

Although they are wrong about the identity of these so called "Masters" and will not like the outcome very much, the New Age is far more aware of what is going on than the average Christian who is rocking himself to sleep on the porch blissfully unaware of the devastating events that will take place before the return of Jesus Christ.

As I previously said, Christians like their theology nice and tidy. To which I will add one more adjective... comfortable. Let's just 'ask Jesus into our hearts', muddle through the next few years when we will all be whisked off to heaven before the going gets rough. Good luck with that.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you read
Why NOT To Ask Jesus Into Your HeartThe Myth of Faith Alone,  and The Rapture

While the church continues to trot off to their various conferences, watch TBN, read yet another leadership book, indulge in emerging dialogue, and argue about who Cain married... all the while waiting for a Rapture that isn't going to happen in time to save them, this planet is, not so gradually, being taken over by some of the highest intelligences in the universe, beings that are also master manipulators. We are so busy congratulating ourselves on how 'spiritual' we have become, that we little suspect that we have actually lost all rights to call ourselves Christians. In fact, with our contemplative prayer, yoga classes, labyrinths etc. we have contributed to the raising of the collective consciousness of this planet.

As Einstein once said "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former". See The New Age Infiltration of The Church

Conclusion... Faith With or Without Evidence. The Choice is Yours

The Major Contradiction
Most of the claims made in Alice Bailey's writings sound very authoritative, which is probably why they have been accepted as true by a countless number of people around this planet. However, when are we going to learn to stop accepting things at face value, and ask a few pertinent questions. For example...  (Note: this quote very clearly refers to the Biblical Jesus Christ).

Christ, in His high place, cares not whether men accept the theological interpretations of scholars and churchmen, but He does care whether the keynote of His life of sacrifice and service is reproduced among men; it is immaterial to Him whether the emphasis laid upon the detail and the veracity of the Gospel story is recognised and accepted, for He is more interested that the search for truth and for subjective spiritual experience should persist; He knows that within each human heart is found that which responds instinctively to God, and that the hope of ultimate glory lies hid in the Christ-consciousness. [54]

To which I only have one question... how did Alice Bailey know what Christ cares about, what is immaterial to Him, and what He is interested in?

The short answer is... she didn't.

There are only two ways one person can possess this kind of information about another... a) you know them very well and/or they themselves have imparted this information b) know someone very close to them.

Since I very much doubt that Alice Bailey actually met Christ and had a long chat with Him, we can rule out possibility 'a'. However, we can also eliminate possibility 'b', which is that Djwhal Khul knows and spoke for the Biblical Jesus Christ because the very foundation of "Ageless Wisdom" teachings are completely inconsistent with what Scripture teaches.

For example, the Scriptures have this to say about Christ's Second Coming.

For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24:27 NASB)

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. (1 Thessalonians 4:16 NASB)

Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. (Revelation 1:7 NASB)

In an obvious attempt to harmonize what he says with what the Scriptures teach, Djwhal Khul endeavors to 'explain' how it is that Jesus Christ will be seen the world over

His reappearance and His consequent work cannot be confined to one small locality or domain unheard of by the great majority, as was the case when He was here before. The radio, the press and the dissemination of news will make His coming different to that of any previous Messenger; the swift modes of transportation will make Him available to countless millions, and by boat, rail and plane they can reach Him: through television, His face can be made familiar to all, and verily "every eye shall see Him." The Reappearance Of The Christ...

However, the Bible tells us that the return of Jesus Christ will be an unmistakable event seen and heard by the entire world at the same time, and that every one, both dead and alive, will see Christ when He descends from heaven with "a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God". And, even more astoundingly, as He descends, the dead in Christ (believers who have already died) will rise, followed by those of His disciples that are still alive.

No television broadcasts, newspapers, or modes of transport... Just a huge, and noisy earth shattering event, unsurpassed by anything we have ever experienced before, or ever will again.

Making a Choice
The multi million dollar question being which of the two is right. Djwhal Khul would certainly like us to believe that we can trust him over the Scriptures by casually categorizing the Bible as a system of "so-called inspired spiritual knowledge and revelation"...

The intelligent youth of all countries are rapidly repudiating orthodox theology, state ecclesiasticism and the control of the church. They are neither interested in man-made interpretations of truth nor in past quarrels between the major world religions. At the same time, they are profoundly interested in the spiritual values and are earnestly seeking verification of their deep-seated unvoiced recognitions. They look to no bible or system of so-called inspired spiritual knowledge and revelation, but their eyes are on the undefined larger wholes in which they seek to merge and lose themselves, such as the state, an ideology, or humanity itself. In this expression of the spirit of self-abnegation may be seen the appearance of the deepest truth of all religion and the justification of the Christian message. [55]

The problem for them is that although the Bible does not glow in the dark, levitate or exhibit any other supernatural qualities, we can determine the validity and the authenticity of its claims. The Bible is substantiated by a literal mountain evidence that gives us unassailable grounds for believing it is the word of God. This evidence include its humanly impossible authorship, fulfilled prophecy, and it's archaeological and scientific accuracy. In fact, it is actually quite remarkable as to how many times, God, Jesus, and the prophets of both the Old and New Testaments appealed to facts to support what they said and taught. See Section Why Christianity?

Christianity is not a "blind faith", and Christians do not substitute reality with unquestioning loyalty to an absolute belief system without proof or evidence. Much to the contrary, the Christian faith is a commitment based on evidence. What Alice Bailey and the rest of her ilk ask us to do is ignore every bit of that undeniable evidence in favor of the word of a spiritual entity that claimed to be Djwhal Khul, a Tibetan who occupies a physical body, and lives on the borders of Tibet, and who claimed that this so called 'Christ' and his cohorts were coming to better the condition of the human race by introducing a new world order etc. etc. etc.

In other words, you can, if you wish, unquestioningly take the word of a spook who showed up out of the blue one fine day, and who offers no evidence as to whether his claims are founded on fact, or fairy dust. However, be warned, the consequences for doing so are exceedingly high. See The Message of the Bible   and   The Warning of The Bible

In fact, it is extremely interesting that Djwhal Khul himself said in August 1934

The books that I have written are sent out with no claim for their acceptance. They may, or may not, be correct, true and useful. It is for you to ascertain their truth by right practice and by the exercise of the intuition. Neither I nor A.A.B. is the least interested in having them acclaimed as inspired writings, or in having anyone speak of them (with bated breath) as being the work of one of the Masters. If they present truth in such a way that it follows sequentially upon that already offered in the world teachings, if the information given raises the aspiration and the will-to-serve from the plane of the emotions to that of the mind (the plane whereon the Masters can be found) then they will have served their purpose. [56]

Anyone, can claim to be divine, or divinely inspired. Anyone with an imagination can spout never ending torrents of spiritual sounding language (which, when you break it down is usually incomprehensible, pretentious nonsense that says absolutely nothing). What we need to do is stop checking our brains in at the door and ask the million dollar question... what evidence supports the many claims made by various religions or the occult, regardless of whether it comes from the founder of the religion, their holy book, one of the leaders/teachers of that religion, or a spook in a turban? Those who believe that the Christian faith is nothing more than 'religious wishful thinking' are completely off track. Christianity is unique inasmuch as it is the only faith based on evidence.

As Christian apologist Glenn Miller put it... the Bible is "either totally deceptive, totally deranged, or totally divine--there is no third option like 'a very good and insightful book'!" [57]

Borrowing From The Bible

Every bit of information in the books transmitted by Dhjwal Khul is couched in language designed to sound as 'spiritual' as possible. This doubtless done so that men will go "ooh" and "aaah" and fall backwards over themselves believing that this coming 'christ' will be a world savior.

Perhaps, in order to give their claims a touch of authenticity, they endlessly borrow phrases from the Scripture which, I am sure, fools many people. However, if you pay close attention you will see that these little bits and pieces are usually misquoted, or partially quoted. Just as an example, in an outline of the objectives facing the Hierarchy and "involving the personal attention of the Christ", Alice Bailey wrote that "preparation for a new revelation" was important because "where there is no vision the people perish". [58]

Anyone who is familiar with the Bible, knows that this quote comes from the Bible even if they cannot pinpoint the exact book or verse, which happens to be Proverbs 29: 18. In the typical fashion of those who choose to misinterpret and mislead, she quotes only half the verse. Read in it's entirety, it says (Emphasis Added)

"Where there is no vision (Heb. châzôn), the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he". (KJV)

The use of the word "but" indicates that the two halves of the adage cannot be separated. So what thought was being expressed by the author of Proverbs?

The word translated "vision" (Heb. châzôn) was commonly used of the revelation of God's will made to the Old Testament prophets. It has therefore been variously translated "oracle", "revelation" etc. For example, using exactly the same Hebrew word, the book of Samuel tells us that, at the time, word from the LORD was rare and prophecy was infrequent, and Jeremiah warned against false prophets

Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD before Eli. And word from the LORD was rare in those days, visions (Heb. châzôn) were infrequent. (1 Samuel 3:1 NASB)

Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; They speak a vision (Heb. châzôn) of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the LORD.  (Jeremiah 23:16 NASB)

In other words, people perish without revelation from the Lord. And what revelation was this particular verse in Proverbs referring to?

The English word "law" is translated from the Hebrew word "Torah", which to the Jew meant one thing and one thing only.... the law of Moses.

In summary, people are doomed without the revelation of God's law simply because, if they don't know the law, they cannot keep it.

In Summary...
Consider this... the teachings of the Blavatskys, Helen Baileys, and all the organizations founded by, or connected to, them, are based wholly and solely on a mysterious entity wearing a turban and a second apparition from the nether regions who's sole claim to fame was that he was recommended by the first one. Yet, every word these two uttered was, and is, treated as 'Gospel truth', believed without reservation or question. Hundreds of thousands of people are making an effort to shape the very world on the words of a spook without credentials or any form of evidence that they are who they say they are...

It is interesting how many atheists and non believers refuse to accept that the Gospels were even written by the people whose names are attached to them. See The Reliability of The New Testament. Yet it is unreservedly accepted that these spirits are who they claim to be and that the particulars they provide are unreservedly true. No further proof or evidence asked for and none received.

Does anyone see the unqualified hypocrisy here?

Footnote I: Theosophy
Theosophy is occult movement that originated in the 19th century although its roots can be traced to ancient Gnosticism and Neoplatonism. The term theosophy, is derived from the Greek theos (“god”) and sophia (“wisdom”), and is generally understood to mean "divine wisdom." Theosophy is considered a part of the broader field of esotericism, referring to hidden knowledge or wisdom that offers the individual enlightenment and salvation. (Wikipedia. However, I believe this quote is taken from

The Esoteric Codex: Theosophy I Paperback (February 13, 2014) by Mark Rogers)

Born into an aristocratic Russian family, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was an occultist, spirit medium, and author who co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875. She gained an international following as the leading theoretician of Theosophy, the esoteric movement that the Society promoted. According to the Encyclopædia Britannica,

In the late 19th century Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, cofounder of the Theosophical Society, announced a coming New Age. She believed that theosophists (who embraced Buddhist and Brahmanic notions such as reincarnation) should assist the evolution of the human race and prepare to cooperate with one of the Ascended Masters of the Great White Brotherhood whose arrival was imminent. Blavatsky believed that, as the world's hidden leaders, members of this mystical brotherhood guided the destiny of the planet. Her ideas contributed to expectation of a New Age among practitioners of Spiritualism and believers in astrology, for whom the coming of the new Aquarian Age promised a period of brotherhood and enlightenment. [John Gordon Melton. New Age movement. http://www.britannica.com/topic/New-Age-movement]

In her book The Secret Doctrine, Blavatsky called the "Biblical Jehovah" the "spiteful and revengeful God of Abram, Isaac, and Jacob who tempted the former and wrestled with the last" [H.P Blavatsky. The Secret Doctrine: Volume One - Cosmogenesis.   Published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform (September 23, 2011) Page 398] And it is no wonder, considering the influence she was under. blavatsky.net says

The Theosophical Society was founded in 1875 by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky along with Henry Steel Olcott, William Quan Judge, and others. According to them

In the modern Theosophical movement the word "Theosophy" has been used with several different meanings:

    a) It is frequently used to describe the body of teachings that were given through Mme. Blavatsky and other Theosophical writers. This body of knowledge is frequently called "modern Theosophy" (with capital T).

    b) It is also used to refer to the universal Ancient Wisdom underlying all religions, which can be found at their core when they are stripped of accretions, deletions, and superstitions. This is sometimes referred to as "ancient" or "timeless" theosophy. [About Theosophy. [PLACE IN TEXT]

Footnote II
The Tibetan' apparently did not stop with Alice Bailey (although it was through her that he caused the greatest damage). According to the Encyclopedia of Women And Religion in North America,

".. several leaders of New Age philosophy have further developed Bailey's teachings, including the well-known personalities JZ Knight (who channels the entity known by the name Ramtha), Helen Schucman (author of A Course in Miracles), through the process of telepathic dictation she called "scribing", Elizabeth Clare Prophet (who published what she referred to as "dictations from Ascended Masters"), and Jean Houston (one of the founders of the Human Potential Movement, past president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology and one of the premiere New Age promoters and speakers in North America.)."

Additionally Djwhal Khul returned to print in the early 21st century as a co-author with two new female channelers, Violet Starre and Moriah Marston. The full title of Violet Starre's first book Diamond Light is "Diamond Light, Cosmic Psychology of Being, 4th Dimension, 7 Rays & More (Teachings Similar to Those Given to Alice A. Bailey) by Djwhal (channeled Through Violet Starre) Khul."

Marston's Soul Searching with Djwahl Khul, the Tibetan, was published in 2006, and according to her publisher, Airleaf Books, "She has been a conscious channel for Ascended Master Djwhal Khul since 1986." [http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/Alice_Bailey] [PLACE IN TEXT]

Footnote III: The Meaning of "christ"
Popular opinion notwithstanding, 'Christ' (Gk. Christós) was not Jesus' last name.

In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word mâshach means 'to anoint'. It was typically used when something or someone was physically anointed with oil, which usually symbolized the consecration of that object or person to a particular task. For example, Aaron and his sons were anointed to minister as priests. The temple vessels and furnishings were anointed and set apart for God's service. Although He was not literally smeared with oil, Jesus Christ was anointed to bring good news to the afflicted (Isaiah 61:1).

In classical Greek, Christós, which can mean 'covered in oil' or 'anointed', is a literal translation of the Hebrew mâshîyach which comes from mâshach. Note: The English word 'Messiah', is simply a transliteration of mâshîyach.

In other words, "Christ", which simply means Messiah or 'anointed one', is a title, not a name. And that title can be hung on anyone that is perceived to, in some way, be a savior or a Messiah. (See The Anointing [PLACE IN TEXT]
