Daughters of Isis

One of the many organizations affiliated with Freemasonry calls itself The Daughters of Isis. It serves as the female auxiliary to the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, the Prince Hall Shriners.

The organization was formally organized at the annual session of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, held in Detroit, Michigan, on August 24, 1910. Their stated purpose being...(Emphasis Added)

... to unite the relatives of all members of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. into one common bond of friendship, to practice charity and benevolence, and to inculcate honor and integrity as symbolized in the legend of the Egyptian queen, the goddess Isis." [01]

Note: There is no such thing as a ‘Goddesses’. The pagan images and lifeless statues of ancient ‘gods’ and ‘goddesses’ were and are representations of the daimonia (demons) which probably accounts for the hideous faces given many of these images such as the eight-armed, demonic looking, ‘goddess’ Kali depicted as holding a skull in one of her hands). See Idol Worship

Change of Name

The negative connotations of the acronym ISIS (Islamic State militant group) prompted the organization to change their name to "Imperial Court".

Although by doing so they may have distinguished themselves from the militant Islamist terrorist group, they are still very much 'connected' to the Egyptian goddess. Their website doipha.org (Daughters of Isis - Prince Hall Affiliation) says (Emphasis Added)

With over 250 constituent courts located throughout the world, including the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Germany, Italy, and Japan, our purpose is to unite relatives and members of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. into one common bond of friendship by inculcating charity, benevolence, honor, and integrity as symbolized by the legend of the Egyptian Queen and Goddess, Isis. [02]

Isis? Isis

Isis, whose power was said to surpass that of all other deities, was one of the most important goddesses of ancient Egypt. She was the wife and sister of Osiris - ruler of the underworld and judge of the dead.

She is most often represented as a beautiful woman wearing a sheath dress and either the hieroglyphic sign of the throne (Her name is the Greek form of an ancient Egyptian word for 'throne') or a solar disk and cow's horns on her head. Her cult eventually spread throughout the Roman Empire. She was worshipped from England to Afghanistan and is still revered by pagans today. [03]

The members of the Imperial Court wear a white Fez with an image of the goddess’ on it (See image at the top of the page. (The Prince Hall Shriners wear a red Fez decorated with crescent, star and scimitar - all three symbols of Islam

To add insult to injury, Isis later became assimilated with the goddess Astarte or Ashtoreth - the Queen of Heaven to whom the Jews living in Egypt burned sacrifices and poured out drink offerings (Jeremiah 44: 15 on). They refused to listen to Jeremiah claiming that when they stopped doing those things, they lacked everything and met their end by the sword and by famine" (V.18)

Finally God told them to go ahead and fulfill their vows however, as He said

I am watching over them for harm and not for good, and all the people of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will meet their end by the sword or by famine until they are completely gone. (V.27)

Christian Women?

Although I have no idea how many of the 15,000 odd members in more than 250 courts across the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Germany, and Japan claim to be Christians, it is probably a safe bet that many of them do.

In which case, why is the fact that a born again Christian woman does not realize she is a DAUGHTER OF THE LIVING GOD thus can have nothing to do with an Egyptian Deity regardless of how symbolic the connection is.

Stop for a moment and consider the superabundance of Scriptural warning to stay away from any contact at all with other gods.

In Ezekiel 8 God called women weeping for Tammuz a great abomination. What do you think he would call a woman who refers to herself as a 'Daughter of Isis’ and who proudly wears headgear with an Egyptian 'goddess' on it?

Or do you imagine that the God who has promised that He will once more shake the Heavens and the Earth has gone soft or changed His mind regarding what He does or does not consider an abomination?

And it gets worse...

The Ritual for the Daughters of Isis

is said to be

"loosely based on the legends of the Egyptian goddess after whom the order is named, instead of being the usual milk-and-water Christianized version of a male ritual" [04]

In this ritual the candidate is "the nurse of the youthful Horus", who "has escaped from the wrath of Typhon and desires to find refuge with the Daughters of Isis". She is then instructed by Ill. Commandress to

"… kiss the Bible three times, the Koran once, the red stone once".

Note: The "red stone of Horus" generally refers to ancient Egyptian amulets  specifically the Eye of Horus, crafted from red materials like red jasper or carnelian.

For any Christian believer to be calling herself a daughter of Isis and kissing the Qur’an in the process is stepping six miles over the line.

If this is resembles the ritual you participated in, you need to consider scrambling to get back on the right side of the Father that saved you. This includes burning that obnoxious headgear before it is too late.

But if you don't wish to do so I hope you have your excuses well rehearsed when the Lord God asks you on judgment day why you kissed the Qur’an -  That is assuming He even gives you the opportunity. However, I suspect the Lord will do what He did to the Jews still living in Egypt ie. watch over you for harm and not for good.

On that day your church will not save you. Your charities will not save you.
And be assured your court will not save you.

Other Rituals

One of the largest projects of the past years is an inquiry into fraternal organizations, such as Freemasonry, modern chivalric orders and Greek Letter Societies.

Ancient Arabic Order of Daughters of the Sphinx

The Ancient Arabic Order of the Daughters of the Sphinx is a female auxiliary organization for women related to Prince Hall Shriners. Founded in 1893, the order acts as a "fun-loving" charitable group.

There are three degrees the Order of Daughters of Sphinx.. The Fraternal, Queen Esther, and Sphinx Degrees. Some of the questions and answers in The Test Lecture on the Sphinx (3rd) Degree are (All Emphasis Added)

Question: Have you an emblem of this Order?

Answer: I have, and it is a crescent and a star attached to the crescent and a sword over the crescent.

    Question:
    Can you explain it?

Answer: I can. The crescent resembles a figure or likeness of a new moon borne on the Turkish flag and national standard. It signifies the Turkish power...

The crescent represents peace, friendship and power.

The crescent is an emblem that is used in Turkey and other Oriental countries, in numerous religious denominations.

The star attached to the crescent represents light, and it is an emblem that is used in numerous masonic organizations and was instituted for this Order in the earliest periods of antiquity.

The sword over the crescent is a weapon of defense and represents military power.  [05]

Note: The symbols of the crescent moon and star pre-date Islam by several thousand years but became affiliated with the Muslim world during Ottoman Empire becoming a prominent symbol of the Ottoman Empire. Today it is widely recognized today as an unofficial symbol of Islam seen on many national flags.

Later in the ritual the Most Worthy Grand Matron places a wreath of flowers on the candidates head stating that it is (Emphasis Added)

"a peculiar emblem of the Order because of the lasting nature of its bloom. The wreath was regarded by many of the Ancients as the symbol of immortality and the possession of its early blossom inspired the belief that the soul would enjoy eternal rest in the realms of the celestial home, and now, as an additional memento to confirm our friendship, we crown you with the emblem of the crown of life ... There is no death to the pure and loving. May your admission to the land Celestial and Everlasting be sure... may your ransomed spirit be crowned with the never-ceasing favor of Almighty God." [06]

The Order of the Rainbow

In the Initiation ritual of The Order of the Rainbow for Girls, described as a "nonprofit character building, service oriented organization" for girls ages 11-20/21. "The seven colors of the Rainbow represent seven teachings that each member receives on her journey toward the pot of gold". The FAQ’s page on their site states that "Nothing in Rainbow - meetings or activities - will ever be contrary to basic Christian teachings". (Emphasis Added)

Basic Christian Teachings?

At an early stage in the ritual one question and answer are as follows... (Emphasis Added)

Worthy Advisor: "Worthy Associate Advisor, what is the symbol of this Assembly?"

Worthy Asso. Adv., rises on being addressed: "The Rainbow in the heavens spanning from the North to the South."

Worthy Advisor: "What does it symbolize?"

Worthy Asso. Adv.: "The ancient promise of God to His people that He will never again destroy the world." [07]

Not exactly what the Bible says..

There is no place in Scripture that has God promising to never destroy the world again. The rainbow was His sign that He would never again destroy the world BY WATER. (Emphasis Added).

I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be eliminated by the waters of a flood, nor shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.”  (Genesis 9:11 NASB)

Much to the contrary He is going to destroy this world one more time..  (Also See The Wrath of God)

For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again. “And if those days had not been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. (Matthew 24:21-22 NASB)

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "Yet Once More I Will Shake Not Only The Earth, But Also The Heaven." (Hebrews 12:26)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. (Revelation 21:1 NASB)

Later the Sister of Religion says... (Emphasis Added)

"We would impress upon you the beauties of Religion as exemplified by its Great Author, whose life was one of gentleness and kindness. He never brought a tear to the eye, nor an ache to the heart of any one because of any act of His. He was gentle and forgiving. Finding those who were troubled or who had sinned, He forgave them, for He came not to call the righteous but the sinner to repentance". [08]

There is so much wrong with this sentence that it would take a separate article to sort it out with it.

To begin with Jesus spoke far more about Hell than He did about Heaven and His inclusiveness was not of the "come as you are" sort. Jesus offered new, transformed life in the kingdom of God, not acceptance of all people as they were in their sinful state. (

How Inclusive Was Jesus? If you think Jesus simply accepted people just as they were without qualification or exception - you would be very wrong. In fact, He preached some very inflexible messages saying that ...those who do iniquity would spend eternity in the fiery furnace (Matthew 13: 37-42) where the worm never dies (Mark 9:48). See The Inclusiveness of Jesus).

Returning to the Ritual... (Emphasis Added)

Worthy Advisor: "On the Altar before you is the Holy Bible. It is the rule of right living for all. Its heroines are those who in the past have stood for the Trinity of Home, Church and Nation, and whose courageous deeds have ever graced the pages of human history. [09]

I would be very very curious to know what hat people pull these soppy/sentimental/feel-good and completely fictitious statements from. Certainly not Scripture that never even hints that it's heroines stood for "the Trinity of Home, Church and Nation"

Daughters of the Nile

The ritual involves Princess Badoura from Princess Badoura: A Tale from the Arabian Nights - a 1913 short story that is a retelling of a classic story from One Thousand and One Nights.

Although the ritual is not near as bad as that of the Shriners it is said to be according to ancient Egyptian rites and refers to the river Nile as a  "sacred" river. (Emphasis Added)

P.B.: It is Her Majesty's order that you enter this Temple, Daughters of the Nile, and be received according to ancient Egyptian rites and ceremonies. [10]
