Treacherous “Christian” Organizations

For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears.
[2 Timothy 4:3]

Treacherous...

1. Marked by betrayal of fidelity, confidence, or trust; perfidious.

2. Not to be relied on; not dependable or trustworthy.

3. Marked by unforeseen hazards; dangerous or deceptive:

We say we believe that our Bible contains the unerring word of God. We say that we read His word and implicitly believe what it says.  The truth is that we do not. The truth is that for the most part these are mere words and we believe none of these things. Remember the verses in Scripture that speak of The “Falling Away” when some will give “Heed to Deceiving Spirits And Doctrines Of Demons?  Well THAT DAY IS ALREADY HERE. We have lost all rights to call ourselves Christians by our Counterfeit Revivals and our wholesale adoption of doctrines and practices DIRECTLY derived from the occult...Tongues, The Word of Faith Movement, Labyrinths, Contemplative Prayer, Slain In The Spirit and Santa Claus. Some, if not all these heresies are being promoted by each of the organizations listed below. If you listen very closely you will hear footsteps behind you.. the man of sin is very close by.

Apostate and Heretical “Christian” Organizations

TBN, and The Tele-Evangelists
Under the guise of Christianity, TBN is probably the largest promoter of heresy today... Capitalizing on Christianity has proved to be far more lucrative than starting a new religion. It would be difficult to find a charismatic/evangelical service/program/tract/book that is not liberally sprinkled with the word 'Anointed, which has become arguably the most overused, overworked, misunderstood, misinterpreted term in the Pentecostal and Charismatic arenas.

The Willow Creek Family Tree
This is a long and growing list of so-called Christian leaders, New Age philosophers and humanistic psychologist who are directly or indirectly validated by Willow Creek and/or its leader, Bill Hybels. It is a dense, interconnected directory of names that might make you dizzy from its complexity, but it speaks volumes about how deeply networked these false teachers are within the Willow Creek organization and how insidious their influence could become to unsuspecting churches.

Mosaic
Erwin Raphael McManus, A native of El Salvador, and graduate of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is the lead pastor and “cultural architect” of Mosaic, a Christian community in Los Angeles. In January 2007, McManus was named by ChurchReport.com one of the “50 Most Influential Christians in America.” But...

Teen Mania/ BattleCry /Acquire the Fire
Teen Mania’s success apparently comes from well oiled corporate planning rather than a move of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says.. By their fruits Ye shall know them " (Matt 7:16 ).  So what are some of the fruits of Teen Mania and related organizations? How can one point a finger at  a Christian youth organization devoted to steering teenagers away from drugs, alcohol and premarital sex. Unfortunately Ron Luce and his organization have made it very easy.

Promise Keepers
is a mushrooming men’s movement begun in 1990 to restore strong male leadership to homes and churches. While PK's goal of developing godly men is commendable, the lover of truth will quickly realize that its approach is unbiblical. Diverse and numerous contributors to the organization's messages results in PK failing to meet the Bible's criteria on many doctrinal issues. Additionally hype, glitz, and gimmickry (blaring rock music provides the background to Frisbees, paper gliders, beach balls, and footballs tossed throughout the stands) in a gathering can all too often result in decisions that are short-lived, shallow, and humanist. Ywam
They have done a good job in evangelizing in the past but something very different is now taking place.. With all its potential from where it once was to its growth today, YWAM has a great need to reassess itself. If they do not do this at this time there may never be another, with the rapid pace things are going. YWAM needs to get back to the basics and return to what they once did. .

Campus Crusade
Campus Crusade is perhaps the most influential campus organization in the stable of new evangelicalism. Charismatics and Catholics are warmly embraced by Bright, who signed the 1994 ECT. In an article from Pastoral Renewal, some comments are made about the success of Campus Crusade's "Here's Life" ministry in Switzerland:“One of the reasons for this success is that the local churches - Reformed, Roman Catholic and Free Church - have participated from the start. This has helped draw in people, because most of them have some kind of relationship, even if only a tenuous one, with one of these local church communities”.

The World Christian Movement
As sinister as many elements of the World Christian Movement sound, we cannot neglect the fact that there is a definite zeal, however misdirected, among the grassroots populous involved. Many genuine brethren are following the only course set before them by their leaders. It would be good to see as much zeal among those who recognize the errors of the WCM, yet do nothing themselves to reach out to the lost. We can certainly take heart that God uses even the works of the flesh to accomplish His purposes in the hearts of those whom He has chosen. Let's not lose sight of the fact that many souls will be genuinely saved through the efforts of some involved in the WCM. Yet we cannot remain blind to the fact that there is a great deception underfoot, as prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24:24...Among them will be the ecumenical stance that the Movement has embraced, including the Roman Catholic influences.

The Mennonites,
Claim nearly 1.5 million members worldwide but have strayed far from their conservative roots

Vineyard Churches
From very small beginnings a mere twenty years ago, there are now some 850 Vineyard churches worldwide (in over 80 countries) with approximately 600 Vineyard churches in the United States alone. They also boast of an international church planting movement, a publishing house and a music production company. This phenomenal growth begs the question.. What are the Vineyard churches about?

Seventh Day Adventists
One must be careful when trying to determine the orthodoxy of an entire group. The Adventists are a prime example of a denomination with some outrageous claims, but still holding to Christian truth at its core. They have historically had some biblically questionable stances on those issues such as the Sabbath, the Old Testament law, annihilation of the wicked, and investigative judgment. But to place them outside Christian orthodoxy when they teach the divinity of Jesus, the doctrine of the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith alone, and the inspiration of the Scriptures would be too much. I suppose it would be best to take each Adventist on a case by case basis
