Hebrew prophecy does tell us that another harvest is yet to come. [See End Time Revival Or End Time Apostasy?]. However, note that not everyone who believes in an end time revival necessarily believes that the church will establish God's kingdom here on earth, which is just another exampleof widespread apostasy [See Dominion Theology]. However this will be a move of God and NOT in any way caused or instigated by the church, which has largely proved to be an empty shell. [See Section The Contemporary Church]. LET THE FIRE FALL We desperately need revival. We desperately need the fire to fall. But God seems to be very silent.. Why? TRUE REVIVAL Every Christian knows what revival is, right? All active church members are familiar with and accustomed to the traditional revival. Many evangelical churches have one every year. The special series of services publicized and promoted as "revival" is a staple in most evangelical denominations, although they do seem to be losing popularity in many churches. But is it possible that most faithful Christians do not really understand and appreciate what a true revival is or what it would be? I am convinced that this is, in fact, the case. And worse yet, if the typical Christian did understand and appreciate what true revival would be, he would not want to experience it! PREACHING THAT HINDERS REVIVAL What ever happened to the fearless preachers whose fiery denunciations of sin and awesome warnings of impending doom used to grip the land? REVIVAL... WHAT REVIVAL? Forgive me for not buying into the hype, folks. But every time I hear someone defend Rick Warren’s ministry based on the premise that it has cultivated a new revival, I ask myself this question: Revival? WHAT revival?! TRUE REVIVAL OR APOSTASY? A Comparison Between the Modern "Toronto Blessing" Style of Revivalism & Historic Revivals. |
